This gorgeous beauty is Luna. She is a 10 year old mare that came into our lives as a yearling. Luna was purchased from an auction, thin and wormy, with large patches of missing hair. She was beyond wild and not much to look at. It was love at first sight. She is now fat and sassy. She gives some riding lessons but is mostly Lisa's personal horse.

Cash is a seven year old Fjord-Arabian gelding. He was also purchased at auction, very ill and too weak to stand. Our vet said that he wouldn't make it but he beat the odds and is now giving riding lessons, trail rides, does play days, and is learning the ins and outs of roping. This picture was taken at the Pratty Prairie Rodeo shortly before these two guys did the Grand EntryParade.

Miss Tia is a five year old dunalino filly. She came in as a rescue in late spring of '08. Jake took one look at her and was hooked. He did all of her training himself. She was wild as a hare and had some terrible health issues. As you can see, things have worked out very well for Miss Tia. This picture was taken just before they did the Grand Entry Parade at the Pretty Prairie Rodeo, Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night! Tia currently gives riding lessons, trail rides, and does play days. She is quiet and sweet.

Splash is a fourteen year old APHA gelding. He was purchased as a six year old, still bleeding from bit and spur use. He was a nuerotic mess. Scared of everything, hyper-reactive, flinching at the slightest touch. His mouth was torn up pretty badly. It took us a long time but we eventually won his trust. We ride him in a hackamore, which uses no bit, and he does excellent. Splash is now a farm favorite, always in demand for riding lessons and trail rides. He can do it all from play days to jumping; from lower-level dressage to parades. He is especially fond of children.

This lil' cutie is Caffodyl. We call her Caffy or Dilly for short. She is a coming five year old paint pony cross. She came to our place as a rescue and was not accustomed to being handled at all. Caffodyl is terribly smart though and she figured out real quickly that she liked to be groomed and petted. We soon went on to some round pen work and then added tack. Caffy did so well that she began trail riding the same month that she trained. She is a smart and funny little horse with a heart of gold. She now does lessons, trail rides, birthday parties, petting zoos, parades, and play days.

Captain is a nineteen year old Selle Francis warmblood gelding. He came to us two years ago. A woman had rescued him from a bad case of neglect and we took him to give him a good place to grow old. Ha! No one told Captain that! His long stride and gentle demeanor make him a wonderful ride. He is 17.3H tall and can be quite intimidating when a person first approaches him simply because of his size but folks soon realize that he is a gentle giant and can be trusted with the smallest of children and the greenest of riders. Captain loves to stick his tongue out of the side of his mouth and wiggle it (like in the photo), LOVES to be petted and scratched, and has a hard core addiction to peppermint candies. He is also ridden in a hackamore and gives lessons, trail rides, does parades, does play days, and can always be counted on if you simply want to just hang out.

Stormy was born here on June 11, 2010. Her mother is a mini/shetland cross and her father was a full size Tenessee Walking Horse. Right now Stormy is about the size of a small shetland although she is growing like a weed. She has one blue eye and her tan color has turned to steel grey. She has been raised to know her manners and is a favorite at birthday parties and petting zoos. She will be trained to ride and pull a cart when she turns three or four.

Badger is an eight year old APHA gelding who came into Storm Creek as a rescue. He was untrained and high strung but underneath the 16 hands of pure energy and exhuberant playfullness lurked a gentle, sweet soul. After two years of being ridden by us only, Badger began giving lessons to kids and participating in play days, parades, and trail rides. He is a safe and gentle mount for anyone with a rocking chair canter. His one quirk is that he loves to lick (EWW!!).

Justice is a two year old Fjord/Paint cross. He is, at the moment, very naughty. We are working on manners and he is learning round pen basics in preparation for his saddle training this summer. He will be three in August. Justice is very friendly but needs to learn about personal space and boundaries! He will be ridden a few times this summer and then in the fall he will have more in depth training.

This scruffy little ragamuffin is Wildfire, a nine year old BLM Mustang. She came to our place as a rescue. Scared out of her mind, Wildfire was unapproachable, untouchable, and unsafe. Little did she know, we possessed a sectret weapon which would annihalate all of her defenses. Yes, I am referring to peppermint candies. She got so strung out on them that she began to approach me and snuffle around at my pockets. We figured that if she can get over her fears of people for the love of candy then it was time to put her to work. She is catchable and leadable but still has a very long way to go before she is anything other than a fresh -breathed pasture puff.

This is Raven, a six year old Arabian gelding. He was rescued and then boarded here by his owner. He is going through spring training after getting a few rides last fall. He will be available for trail rides and such this summer more than likely. He is an amazingly sweet boy with no vices and a loving nature. Raven has an unusual pattern along his back of white spots (it's hard to see with his winter coat) called lacing. It is a genetic condition that causes a pattern of white hair growth from the withers to the tail head. He's a beauty in the summer when he's all slicked out and flagging his tail as he runs across the pasture.
This is Eeyore, a nine year old donkey. He came from old Mexico to guard cattle and then was in danger of being abandoned when he was no longer needed. Dustin and I chased him all over a forty acre pasture in the freezing rain and snow trying to catch him to save his life. Then Cody, who was just little at the time, climbs out of the truck and the ungrateful beast ran right over to him. They have had a special bond since. Eeyore LOVES to do petting zoos and is gentle to the core, even when kids examine his ears and tail, hug his rear end, and hee-haw at him. E can be ridden (so long as he wants to go, otherwise he sits down and refuses to go another step) and will be doing cart-training this summer.
